LOKORO DIAMONDS experienced team of executives is among the most innovative and accomplished in the diamond industry. Our management consists of 7 executives with more than 100 years of experience in the diamond industry. In addition, LOKORO executive team draws strength and inspiration from its diversified Advisory Board and talented Board of Directors.  With such cohesiveness amongst its executives, LOKORO heralds the beginning of a new generation of diamond companies.

Frederick R. McKoy, Group Chairman/CEO

Mr. McKoy began his career at Crusaders Trust International in Luxemburg, a Private Investment Trust, where he was the Lead Investment Trust Manager for International Investments. His Portfolio was valued at more than $300 Million Dollars in some of the largest private and public companies known today. 

 

At Crusaders Trust International he was engaged principally in the trust’s mergers and acquisitions business from 1983 to 1986 and served as Lead Trust Manager for the Mergers & Acquisitions Committee in 1983 and 1984 providing mezzanine financing for many of the well-known private equity firms.

 

He was appointed the position of Commercial Attaché to Republic of Burundi by President Domitien Ndayizeye, doing which time he handled the negotiated and multimillion-dollar government to government crude oil contract between Republic of Nigeria and Republic of Burundi. Currently serving as Special Advisor for Energy, Trade and Development to Republic of Burundi’s current President Pierre Nkurunziza and has been reaffirmed as Burundi’s Commercial Attaché.

 

Chairman/CEO and Founder of MGG HOLDINGS, INC., the Chairman of the board of directors for MGG HOLDINGS, SA., MGG ENERGY, INC.  Mr. McKoy has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development since its founding in 1985, when it began as a small investment firm created to solely handle his personal capital. MGG HOLDINGS first acquisition was the purchase of Jacques Lagan cognac of France, later to be named Frederique Limited of Atlanta.  This begins his successful development of MGG HOLDINGS and its global growth long before the word GLOBALIZATION was in the forefront. Mr. McKoy is also the Chairman/CEO of Atlantic Diamonds Co, a small rough-diamond trading company.

 

In 2006 after the passing of his mother and father in 2008 he formed The Johnny R. and Lessie Wicker McKoy Foundation.  

Pravin B. Mehta, Chairman/President (click to view profile)

The Chairman sets the "tone" for the Board and its key executive staff and personnel by fostering ethical and responsible decision-making and ensures that directors are kept informed of appropriate corporate matters. Mr. Mehta’s primary responsibility as the Chairman/ President for Lokoro is to provide effective leadership in organizing, managing and executing company plans and policies. Mr. Mehta oversees the acquisition, sales and marketing of Lokoro’s Rough Diamond Trading Division. He brings to Lokoro more than 40 years experience in various sectors of the diamond industry including rough diamond trading, polishing, marketing and retail. His vast experience enables Lokoro unlimited access to the rough diamond markets in Antwerp, Belgium; Mumbai, India; and Ramat Gan, Israel; London, and New York City; five of the world’s largest rough diamond markets. In addition, his prodigious knowledge reaches even into the new and ever growing China market which is second only to the US polish market.  
 
Mr. Mehta is the Founder and former President of Diamond Days of New York; an accredited member of the prestigious American Gem Society, as well as the first Indian company to be admitted to this society.  Diamonds Days is located in the exclusive Diamond Dealers Building of New York.  Mr. Mehta is a two term Founding President of the Indian Diamond and Colorstones Association, New York.
 
Mr. Mehta assisted in the formation of the Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, which was an affiliate of Tufts University.  In addition, he made invaluable contributions in developing educational, operational, and research affiliations with Tufts University’s medical school in Mumbai.  He worked as Chief Chemist, Laboratory Manager and the Development Manager for Nestle, Uni-Lever and Parle perceptively for 12 more years. After which he became the Founder and President of Occidental Gems, Inc., in New York.  This is where he honed his skills, knowledge and excelled in the diamond industry for more than 23 years building Occidental Gems into one of the largest Diamond Dealers in the USA. Meanwhile he was developing a partnership with M Fabrikant & Sons; the largest Diamond Jewelry Company in America. 
 
In addition, Mr. Mehta is a supplier of polished diamonds to the Continental Buying Group with more than 350 Stores, Independent Jewelry Organization with 650 plus Stores, Retail Jewelers Organization with 850 Stores and the Major Jewelry Chains.

Nathan Dexter Wicker, Vice President/Secretary/Treasurer (click to view profile)

Mr. Wicker supervises handlers and transporters as well as oversees the Kimberly Process Certification requirements, exporting, importing and handling of all Rough Diamond in Africa, Europe, India, New York, and Israel. He also manages the various logistical operations of rough diamond to various diamond polishing houses around the world.  Mr. Wicker offers his expertise as a logistics and Paralegal officer for US Army Officer for more than nine years.
 
 
 
After receiving an US Army Honorable Discharge, Nathan became the Cash Management Officer for MoneyLink a Automated Teller Machines (ATM) company in which he oversaw some 480 ATM, daily cash transfers and mobile logistics for more than $7 Million US Dollars a year for many years before becoming the Director of logistics and Loss Prevention at The Atlanta Cattle Exchange. Here, he supervised the shipments, inventory management, and loss control for more than $25 Million US Dollars annually.
 
 
 
Mr. Wicker’s experience in the field of Cash Management and Logistics gives Lokoro Diamonds a secured advantage   in the area of Cash Management and Loss Prevention, as well as assurance of the handling, movement and continuous tracking of our many diamond inventories at all times. Mr. Wicker’s expertise in logistics and inventory as well as his military background brings Lokoro Diamonds a vast network of well qualified military personnel and logistic officers from all over the world who can enlist in the future as we continue to grow.

Sujan ‘Nicky’ Mehta - Vice President Sales/Marketing (click to view profile)

Sujan Mehta is our rising star in the World Diamond Society. He is one of the founding investors in the prestigious American Gems Society Laboratory. Born in Madras, India in 1969 before moving to the USA in 1972 and becoming a US citizen, Sujan Mehta began building upon the American dream of achieving a higher education and a higher standard of living for his family. 
 
In 1988, he began his training at Occidental Gems Inc, - a De Beers diamond sight holding company – working his way up ranks to become a National Sales Manager, developing and supervising relationships with more than 2,000 retailers.  After obtaining extensive experience with Occidental Gems, Mr. Mehta took the reins as President of Diamond Days Promotions Inc., a rough and polish diamond distributing company. He expanded and improved Diamond Days’ diamond inventory and developed broader clientele with buyers in India, Antwerpen and around the world becoming the first vendor of the Continental Buying Group in which he actively serviced over 400 of their stores.
 
Mr. Mehta travelled the world developing and fortifying relationships with many business leaders throughout the diamond industry. His many travels afforded him the opportunity to obtain enormous experience in the rough and polished diamond industry and the diamond retail sector. Due to his global diamond knowledge Mr. Mehta is highly sought after for his advice in the retail industry on how to get closer to the end customer base. 
 
Nicky, as he is professionally called, attended the renowned Iona Preparatory School of New Rochelle. There, he earned many blue- ribbon awards before transferring to Eastchester High School - among the few public high schools in New York to receive a distinguished Great Schools Rating of 9 out of 10.  After, he went on to attend College at Baylor University and Mercy College where he received his B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing. Sujan is a graduate of the world-renowned Gemological Institute of America where he received a diamond degree in Diamonds & Diamond Grading; Fine Jewelry Sales, and Colored Stones. He was trained under the supervision of Master Diamond Cutters and Gemologists, who had many years of expertise in the rough, polished, and fancy colored stones industry. 
 
His many memberships and accomplishments include:

•Asian-Indian member to join the largest independent buying group – Independent Jewelers Organization
•A founding-member of the Indian Diamond and Colored Stone Association (IDCA).
•An inductee in the 24KT Club of Southern California

Advisory Board

The Company has established an Advisory Board of nine highly qualified professionals, business and industry leaders, to assist the Board of Directors, management team and the corporation leadership, guidance, and management risk, through advice and counsel on the factors that influence the executive leadership talent and direction of organization. The Advisory Board members are appointed to offer expert advice to the elected board of directors on various corporate matters.  The Advisory Board is selected only to provide advice to the elected board of directors and/or the management team as directed by the board of directors.  Neither the board of directors, nor management team is bound to act upon or imposed any recommendations proposed by the advisory board.

Board of Directors

The Company has established a Board of Directors, which includes highly qualified business and industry professionals. The Board of Directors will assist the management team in making appropriate decisions and taking effective action; however, they will not be responsible for management decisions. Non Executive Director

Elbert V. Walker, Jr. AIA

Mr. Walker is the President in The Livas Group Architects, P.C., founded in Norfolk, Virginia in 1948 as Henry L. Livas, AIA Architect & Associates.  Mr. Walker is a licensed architect and member of the American Institute of Architects since 1965.
As President of The Livas Group Architects, P.C. for the past 25 years, he has directed the planning, designing, and management of numerous construction projects value more than $500 million. 
 
Mr. Walker has established a stellar reputation in the construction industry for his ability to get projects done without compromising quality control and construction management.  While meeting the budgeting & functional needs of the firm's clients at all times. 
 
Overseeing the completion of countless academic,  athletic, historic, corporate, religious, and residential projects including renovating, planning and programming historic and new structures.  His clients include Institutes of Higher Learning such as Hampton University, Norfolk State University, Virginia Union University, Virginia State University and many others.
 
Mr. Walker and The Livas Group Architects have received various awards from many organizations such as the American Institute of Architects Excellence in Design and the Design Achievement For Preservation, The City of Hampton, Virginia Awards for Excellence and Civic Improvement Award and the 2009 Business Leadership Award for Outstanding Vision, Dedication and Commitment to Excellence in the Hampton Roads Business Community
